To top it all off…

Piling on successes for 2018

It’s been another busy month here at the NACFB since our November newsletter. We hosted both the 2017 AGM and our annual gala dinner. Both events were a real success and I am sure all those who attended either event will agree they have laid a strong foundation for 2018.

First, thank you to all those who took the time to have a say on the proposed resolutions at November’s NACFB AGM. Whether you voted by post, online or at the AGM itself, the NACFB team and I appreciated your support, engagement and the ensuing dialogue.

I am pleased to announce that all seven of the proposed resolutions passed with a significant majority after a very positive meeting. In the coming days and weeks, you will receive more follow-up information on the positive changes to your membership in the form of the minutes from the day and, for the first time ever, we will be sharing video footage of proceedings.

Our aim for the NACFB is to partner with all of our Members to foster professional expertise while embracing the highest industry and regulatory standards, including engagement with our stakeholders, to help your business prosper.

Thursday November 30th saw over 700 people attend the NACFB’s largest ever gala dinner, where we celebrated the Association’s silver anniversary in both grandeur and style. On behalf of everyone at the NACFB, I want to thank all those who attended and our Patron sponsors for their support in making the gala dinner a night to remember. Thank you to our headline sponsor Shawbrook Bank, InterBay Commercial UK who sponsored the drinks reception, and to the team at Growth Street who kindly sponsored our silent auction.

Proceeds from the auction went to the NACFB’s chosen charity, YoungMinds, an organisation dedicated to improving the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people in the UK. By the end of the night guests had raised a staggering £20,000 – an astonishing achievement. Thank you to all those who bid on the night, raising money for a worthy cause.

Veteran politician and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth hosted the evening’s award ceremony, recognising standout lenders nominated by you, our NACFB broker Members. The NACFB saw dozens of names put forward in some categories – clearly demonstrating that there are many lenders deserving of plaudits. Thank you to all of the Member firms who sponsored each of the categories.

Before all of that, I want to take the time to wish you, your families and your colleagues a happy Christmas and prosperous new year.

See you in 2018.
